EOLAS: Searching and Browsing
There is a search box on the EOLAS homepage in the top right hand corner.
Enter your search term(s) in the search box and click the Search button.
Your search term can be, well, anything
- Part of the author's name
- Part of the title
- A keyword that describes the subject or content of the work
- A phrase that appears in the text of the work (use quotation marks "" for this)
After your initial search, you will have the option of using EOLAS's advanced search option. Y
By using the dropdown menu on the left of the search bar, you can search the content of specific ETBs.
You can further narrow your search by clicking 'Show Advanced Search' under the search bar.
This brings up filters that you can use to refine your search results. Using the leftmost dropdown list you can filter by:
- Date issue
- File Name
- File Description
Using the middle dropdown you can specify whether the above contains certain words (contains), an exact phrase (equals), and exclude words and phrases by using "not contains" and "not equals".
On the EOLAS homepage, you can browse by community to view to content of a specific ETB.
From within the communities, you can search that specific community or browse further by sub-community or collection.
Browse by author, subject or date
On the EOLAS homepage, or on any community, sub-community or collection page, you can browse content by author, subject or date. Simply look on the right hand side of the page to see a list of authors, subjects or date within that community or collection.
To see more simply click 'View more' at the bottom of each section.
