The search results page contains a lot of information, let's break that down.

Each numbered red box contains different information. Let's go through them in order:

1. The left-hand column is all about refining/filtering/limiting results, but you can click on the carets (<<) to hide this column
2. The current search details
3. The various limiters that you can use:
   • Full-text
   • References Available
   • Peer Reviewed
   • Publication Date
4. Other filters (you can see source types in the image - limit your search results to specific information sources, but other filters are available):
   • Subject - restrict search results to a selected subject
   • Publication - restrict search results to a selected publication
   • Publisher - restrict search results to a selected publisher
   • Language - restrict search results to a selected language

The second column contains result and individual item information

5. Search result numbers - on the first page, this will be 1-10 of x, where x is the total number of search results 
6. Article information - title, authors, subject keywords
7. A link to full-text, if it is available
8. Information source type
9. Customisation options
   • Sort Results by:
     • Newest first
     • Oldest first
     • Source
     • Relevance (what EBSCO thinks are the most relevant results to your search) This is the default sort
   • Page Options
     • Result display format
     • Image quick view on/off (see thumbnails of item images in a third column on the right-hand side of the page
     • Results per page (5 per page 10, 20, 30, 40 or 50)
     • Page layout - choose what columns display limiters/main content/"secondary" content (like image thumbnails)
   • Share Results
     • Add results to folder (you need a MyEBSCO account to save results)
     • Save search to folder ( (you need a MyEBSCO account to save searches)
     • Create an alert to be informed when new search results are added to this resource
     • Create a permanent link to the search
