Linguahouse is a resource that provides access to ESOL worksheets and lesson plans to teachers and learners.
Access to Linguahouse is through a personal account. To request access, contact the library using an ETB FET institutional (ETB/Training Centre/College) email address. We can't accept requests from webmail accounts such as Gmail, Yahoo or Hotmail as we can't verify who you are. Neither can we fulfil access requests from non-ETB FET institutions.
The Digital Library has a limited number of accounts which will be given out on a first come, first serve basis. Currently accounts can only be given to teachers and not learners.
Once the Digital Library has created an account for you. You should receive an email that looks like this:
If you do not see this email, check your spam or junk mail.
In this email select "Set Password" and give yourself a secure password.
Once you have an account setup, you can login to Linguahouse from their homepage. Simply click "Login" at the top right of the page.
From there, you can type in your email and password and click login.
You can search Linguahouse from the home page.
Searching of the Linguahouse worksheets uses a search box. Enter your search terms and click "Search Lesson". For example, to search for worksheets related to interviews, enter "interviews". You can narrow down the type of English, Level which uses the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), and lesson time.
After you enter your search, you can further refine your results using a number of filters on the left hand side of the search result page.

You can also switch between British and American English using the two icons on the top right above the search results.
When you find a lesson plan or worksheet that you want to view. You will see a number of options on the Lesson Plan page.
You can click the tags and details below the lesson plan title to search for lesson plans and worksheets on the same topic and categories.
To access your account click your name on the top right of the any Linguahouse page, then click "View Profile" from the drop down menu.
From your profile, you can change your password and access saved and previously viewed worksheets and lesson plans.
You can find your recently viewed, downloaded and saved lessons by clicking Lessons on the left hand side of the profile page.
Clicking "Lessons" shows you both your last viewed and recently downloaded lessons.
Clicking "Lesson Collections" allows you to view and create collections of lessons and worksheets. If you have already created a lesson collection, you can edit the collection by pressing the kebab icon near the top right hand side of the page.
The phrasebook can be found under "Tools and Resources" halfway down the homepage. The phrasebook covers nine languages. You can use the filter on the left hand of the page to narrow down the language or languages you currently speak and the language you or your learners wish to learn. You can also narrow down areas by category such as work, travel, accommodation, and health.
After choosing your language and category, you see a table with two columns. One with phrases in the language you speak and the other with the language you are trying to learn. You can press the play button to hear the chosen phrases spoken aloud.
