BBC Bitesize - Media Studies
- This is a comprehensive introduction to Media Studies and supports the subject at UK GCSE level. The site contains useful introductions to themes commonly found in Media Studies, such as genre, narrative, representation and audiences. The various media industries are also explored, including TV, magazines, advertising, film, music, journalism, radio, websites and gaming. There are many resources available here but note that for rights reasons, video content on this site is not available outside the UK.

Media Regulation in Ireland
Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media
- This is the department of the Government of Ireland responsible for the development of the legislative and regulatory framework for broadcasting and for certain media in Ireland. It is also responsible for policy in relation to the funding of the public service broadcasters, RTÉ and TG4, and the development of the broadcasting sector in general.
Coimisiún na Meán - the Media Commission
- Oversees the regulatory framework for online safety and the regulation of broadcasting and audiovisual on-demand services in Ireland. The Media Commission incorporates the role of broadcasting regulation formerly carried out by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI).

- Now part of the Media Commission. This is a link to all licenced television and radio stations in Ireland.
Press Council of Ireland
- Press Council of Ireland is responsible for the oversight of the professional principles embodied in the Code of Practice for journalists, and with upholding the freedom of the press. The Press Council operates with the support and cooperation of member publications and journalists. It decides on appeals from decisions of the Press Ombudsman and on complaints referred to it directly by the Press Ombudsman. It is independent of both government and media

The IBI represents the interests of commercial radio station owners to the government and to the regulator, The Media Commission.
The IBI also lobbies on behalf of the radio listeners of Ireland and contributes to industry consultations and forums on issues ranging from programming to advertising and strategy.
