NewsBank is fully compliant to meet Level AA of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1).
Accessibility options can be found by clicking the "hamburger" button near the top of each article page. This opens a box with a number of options
The settings option allows you to change some of the settings of NewsBank's screen reader. Enlarge Text applies to the text when the screen reader is in use.
Text Mode will bring up the article in plain text with customisable text options allowing you to change the font, text size, colour and spacing.
Page Mask (also known as a Screen Mask) allows you to remove distractions and focus on one section of text at a time.
When you open an article, you will see an option to read have the article read aloud.
Click this to have the article read to you.
When the article is being read aloud you can use the player, play, stop, fast forward and change the volume as well as read speed using the speedometer icon.
