NewsBank is a newspaper resource that provides access to daily and weekly Irish and UK newspapers including The Irish Times. Access to back issues is also provided. In addition to newspapers, NewsBank also provides access to web-only news articles, and some journals and magazines
Like other library resources, access to the Archive is through a method called a referring URL This uses a process that checks that the web page that you came from is set up to access the Archive. The web page to get to there is a password-protected page on this site that you can find linked to on the Access page of this section.. The password to access that page is the same one for most other resources (for example) the eBooks for FE Subscription Collection, UK & Ireland Reference Centre). If you haven't used other Library resources, then contact the Library about access
Basic searching uses a Google-like search box. Enter your search terms and click "search". To search for a phrase put quotation marks around it. For example, to search for healthy eating enter "healthy eating".
On the search results page you have a variety of options available to you:
Your search terms are highlighted in each result
Advanced searching lets you construct more complex searches, for example, by searching for specific search terms in specific parts of an item (e.g., headline, author, first paragraph or section) and limiting the results to certain sources.
You can also search different publications covered by this resource by selecting "Source" from the advanced search bar.
