Communicating and Teaching Career Information in Guidance Practice  (18th June 2025)

• In this webinar, Anna will share some preliminary findings from one of the sub-studies included in her dissertation. This particular study is based on interviews with 25 career counsellors working in upper secondary schools across Sweden.

Introduction to Agriculture Short Course for Transition Year (TY) by LOETB & Agri Aware (June 2025)

• The ‘Intro to Ag’ programme was created to address the gap in agricultural education at Junior Cycle level. While students have the opportunity to explore subjects they can continue at Senior Cycle – such as languages and science, practical subjects like woodwork and metalwork – agricultural science remains an exception. From the beginning of secondary school until 5th year, students do not have the option to study agricultural science.

Targeting our Neurodiverse Population: A Positive Promotional Campaign for Apprentices WWETB (6th May 2025)

• WWETB launched a unique promotional campaign in the Training Centres across Waterford and Wexford targeting apprentices with dyslexia and ADHD to recognise their strengths rather than concentrating only on their challenges. This is unique to WWETB and has not been rolled out in any other ETB. 

Trauma-Informed Care in the Further Education and Training Sector (October 2024)

• This webinar provides a broad overview of trauma-informed care. Catriona also walked us through the nature of trauma and how it shows up in education settings and the neurophysiology of trauma. We were guided through the values and principles of trauma-informed practice, as well as compassion fatigue and self care for FET practitioners.
