Your Voice Counts: Active Citizenship Tutor Handbook
This Cork ETB teaching resource aims to make information about voting and active citizenship more accessible to FET students and the general public.
Why?
Many adults have lost faith in the system: constructive dialogue on the how and why of civic engagement is vital if more adults are to become engaged.
Disenfranchised citizens may not be fully engaging with society.
“Liam Cleere returned to education after a short break of 39 years, in September 2013 with a determination to read and write beyond the formative levels afforded to him from his short spell in Primary Education.
This is Liam’s journey through the life changing experience of Further Education with Tipperary ETB and how it led him from those early days of struggling to write his own name, to composing this selection of poetry and short stories. Liam’s story is extremely personal and hugely inspirational.”
The book ‘My Journey from the Back of the Class with Tipperary ETB’ was officially launched on September 18th, 2023, almost exactly ten years to the day Liam returned to the classroom with a foreword by Simon Harris TD.
Liam’s book will available across all literacy services nationwide.
