FET Learner Mental Health Framework

The FET Learner Mental Health Framework was developed by consultants guided by the Strategy and Policy Group of the DFET Forum to provide a structure for the provision of mental health and wellbeing support for learners in a variety of FET locations which could be used to review existing provision, explore existing practice across the sector and to identify key tenets which could be incorporated into future planned provision.

The ETBI Inclusion Unit are proud to officially launch the FET Learner Mental Health Framework on Wednesday March 01st 2023.

Taking place in Inchicore College of Further Education and Training, the Learner Mental Health Framework aims to:

Generate a definition and understanding of Mental Health and Wellbeing, which will be generally accepted across all FET institutions.
Review Mental Health and Wellbeing supports currently available to FET learners, with a view to identifying where improvements are required.
Develop a framework for Learner Mental Health and Wellbeing which will provide guidance to FET institutions on how they can support learners and respond to Mental Health and Wellbeing critical incidents in a consistent, planned, and structured way.
